Ecstasy dated February 22, 1877.
Marie-Julie: “The Beloved of my soul asks for my heart. It is fair that I give it to Him, It (His Heart exhausted Itself) to nourish me, I can not refuse.”
“Do you love Me?” saith the Lord.
“No, I can not love you on Earth. Let me die for I love You with an infinite love.”
“Marie-Julie of the Crucifix, come and stay in My Loving Wound.”
“I am afraid to go because of my misery.”
“Come My spouse crucified, come to receive these sweet consolations.”
“I desire it well, but through the heart of my Mother to shake off all my miseries.”
“My spouse, here is My Sacred Heart and the gates of heaven will open.”
“I'm ready.”
“Come, My dove, leave the earth.”
“I am so small. Oh! I fear leaving my stake!”
“My spouse, how much do you love Me?”
“Let me die to tell You.”
“I have chosen you. Make yourself small.”
“Pick me a flower and bury my small body in the flower.”
“This is the flower, it is My Heart.”
“I'm too miserable.”
“You are My (more or higher) elect”.
“Let me dig my grave to divest myself.” (Of earthly attachments?)
“The hour will strike, hurry to finish your retreat.”
“Let it commence and I will go and correspond. I bury myself in the flower of Mary, I will never
more see (or been seen in) the eyes of the Lord.”
(Meaning of the last sentence is unclear, perhaps, looking into the Divine loving gaze of Our Lord was too beautiful to bear to the point of mortification because imperfections are felt stronger when in the presence of His pure Majesty and it can be overwhelming, it was easier to hide herself in Mary and love Him through her as we see in the sentence above: “I desire it well, but through the heart of my Mother to shake off all my miseries.” So, she wishes to hide and unite herself to Mary to the point Our Lord no longer saw her but Mary.)
