Litany to Bl. Emperor Charlemagne

Litany to Bl. Emperor Charlemagne

At the beginning of 1875, Marie-Julie received revelations concerning Bl. Charlemagne, the great and pious Emperor. He was at first 'canonised' but as this happen under an antipope – his canonisation was made null and void. However, he is still recognised as a Blessed in the Roman Catholic Church, which is celebrated on January 28. She announced that the Church will one day regularize his canonization and raise him to the altars.

On Feburary 11, 1875, Marie-Julie received the text of a litany to be recited to the great Emperor:
::::::

Holy Charlemagne, who made France the Empire and the kingdom of Jesus Christ, you who gave faith to France ... You will be our great defender, our great protector, you who have dedicated France to Jesus Christ, in her days of perils and struggles, have mercy on her.

Holy Charlemagne, you, who was a great warrior of the faith ... Make sure that the King of Kings, the God of Armies and of France, does not forget us. Soon great miracles will show that you are the friend of God. Today the faith is shaken, it withers, raise the faith of the French homeland, have mercy on France!

Holy Charlemagne, who restored the faith, who gave to the Holy Pontiffs ..., have mercy on the Sovereign Pontiff and France and the poor French who ask you for peace.

O Holy Charlemagne, do not be deaf to our voice. Be like Saint-Martin of Tours, come to our aid and deliver the Holy Father. He suffers and he moans. You love the Holy Father and all the Popes, have mercy. Come to his rescue, have mercy on France!

Holy Charlemagne, so powerful in France, who surpassed all the great Chiefs who were not Christians, who destroyed idolatry, who was always a conqueror, who walked in front of these great Chiefs and confused them because the God of Armies was with you, have mercy on France!

Holy Charlemagne, who made faith flourish everywhere, who carried your flag in the midst of a people who did not know Him, you walked, the cross on your breast in the middle of all these Chiefs and great men who did not know Jesus Christ. Today France is threatened with great misfortunes and without the help of the Sacred Heart, we would fall like victims for the executioner, have mercy on us! Saint-Martin and you, you will be the great defenders of France with the other holy kings and holy queens of France. From heaven, pray for our deliverance.

Holy Charlemagne, you who have traveled through so many provinces, building churches and chapels to adore the God of mercy, you who feared nothing to make the Sign of the Cross on your forehead, thus making it known that you were Christian and loved of God which was the
cause the elders submitted to you. Some however resisted and you invoked God and you won them by your faith ...

O Holy Charlemagne, France is in great need of renewing its faith, it has need of the white flag, France is very dark. It is thick with smoke, show her the cross you wore on your heart and the courage you once had, exposing yourself for it, to the loss of your life.

O Holy Charlemagne, you had on your lips, this word: “I have the faith engraved in my heart.” Have mercy on France, the Church and the pastors of the Church and the unhappy who groan.

After making religion known in this way, you raised the standard of faith and had it carried by your officers on the battlefield. To those who murmured, you said: "My children, do not murmur, I have faith Let us make it flower, this faith. Let us build sanctuaries. One day, France will not forget you; she will say that it was you who made this faith flourish. I am a Christian,” and he made his soldiers repeat it. His heart was good.

Holy Charlemagne has always been a winner and he will fight for us. One day he will be revered by all. France is calling you, it needs the beautiful tree of faith and to cry out too: “I am a Christian!” She succumbed, she is well neglected on the part of men. Have mercy on her!

Holy Charlemagne thanked God for his victory. He implanted the faith in France with many pains, vigils and fasts. Have mercy on the French people. We call you, we venerate you with St- Martin of Tours, but soon France will win!

Holy Charlemagne, have mercy on those who have lost the faith. We hope in you. Make germinate this beautiful purity! Amen.
