UPDATE (JULY 2024) - IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

According to Marie-Julie Jahenny, the ONLY candles that will light during the Two and Three Days of Darkness will be blessed candles made from PURE (natural) WAX, (beeswax), with no other man-made paste mixed in, (i.e like paraffin).
I have just discovered from a friend who makes beeswax candles that the cheaper beeswax candles that are made from rolled sheets of wax, like something pictured here, MAY NOT BE 100% BEESWAX - some bee keepers /and wax harvesters / suppliers, etc. add PARAFFIN to it so the wax sheets come off the honeycomb-pattern mold easier and make it easier for rolling, but not all makers will state they have added paraffin and still call it 100% beeswax!
Some candle makers do not even know the wax suppliers have added paraffin to the wax sheets, the candle makers are not told this, which is why they still put "100% beeswax" on their labels, SO TO BE ON THE SAFE SIDE, MAKE SURE YOUR GET SOLID PILLAR / STICK / ETC, BEESWAX CANDLES. Not the rolled sheet wax candles.
I know, for those of you who got the rolled candles like I did because they were a bit cheaper, this is a huge pain, but better to be safe and get a new supply of solid type candles.

Also, do your homework on each product and make sure its says 100% beeswax and is a SOLID PILLAR or solid type such as traditional stick candles, etc, or solid types, but is NOT 'rolled'. I repeat - rolled wax sheet candles that look like they have a 'honeycomb' pattern on them may have paraffin added to them and are not 100% pure as claimed, even craft candle makers may not know wax suppliers add paraffin to the rolled sheet wax to make it more supple and bendable for rolled candles! Hence, it's safer to get solid pillar beeswax candles.
NOTE: I would also completely avoid other 'natural wax' candles that are not beeswax, like soy wax, or coconut wax candles, or other plant-based 'wax' candles because this 'natural' label is misleading: the wax derived from soy and other plant material is from OIL, it has to be turned into wax, soy beans etc. do not naturally make wax, it is still a man-made product. Marie-Julie was told we must not use candles that have a wax or 'paste' made by man. Best to use the natural wax proscribed by the Church, such as beeswax. Bees naturally make wax.
