#192 FIRE WILL FALL FROM HEAVEN and MINGLE WITH THE FIRE OF HELL – the Destruction of Paris described as 'Sodom' – the NATIONAL ASSEMBLY will be Destroyed – The Sacred Heart Complains Against France

"The fire will fall from heaven upon Sodom (Paris) and mainly on the room of hell, (Chamber of Deputies/ National Assembly) where they make bad laws; it will be swallowed up in its place, it will be like a great (sandpit or quarry) which, until the end of the world, they will not be able to approach without a shudder of horror. The fire of Heaven will blend with the fire of Hell. Water will be similar to fire ... This place will collapse over a large distance around ... Never, will they forget these marks of God, remaining visible on a land where there are such beautiful shrines dedicated to the Holy Immaculate Mother."

OBSERVATIONS: this is agreement with the prophecies of other mystics that Paris will be destroyed and never rebuilt after the great chastisements and the Three Days of Darkness, the ruins of the city will be left until the end of the world as a sign of God's Justice. It is interesting that the aftermath will be compared to a quarry /sandpit: Paris is completely hollowed out underneath with old gypsum mine tunnels, the collapse of the city would literally make it one huge open pit.

No doubt the mention of the fire from Heaven and Hell mingling not only refers to the wars, but also the Three Days of Darkness when the Fire of Heaven will fall from the sky and cleanse the earth before the Age of Peace and the renewal, we note the fire and chastisement will not come from natural sources if the element of water shall take on the nature of fire according to the prophecy above.

Ecstasy date unknown - The Sacred Heart Complains Against France

Sacred Heart: “The people of (the) chastisement is guilty, but My French people. (They say):

“I have not visited this people, My Divine Heart has not been revealed there. I did not send My Holy Mother to open sources of grace; the grace of Heaven did not fall in France as in those countries where the punishment comes.”

(i.e., Our Lord seems to be listing out the excuses of the ignorant sinners that doubt the graces given to France.)

These souls do not know Me much, a great number do not participate in My graces. (i.e. the Protestant countries outside of France)   But France knows Me, it has known me. She is very guilty, has tarnished her faith, honour and dignity. If I save her, I save her freely, because the number of My just ones is very small compared to the unjust.” (i.e. there will be too few just souls left making reparations, so it will be a pure act of the Sacred Heart's mercy that He will step forward and save France.)

(May 28, 1877) Our Lord: “Ever since Louis XVI died on the scaffold, France is threatened with danger and misfortune.”

(June 1, 1877) Our Lord to Marie-Julie Jahenny:

“Come to My Divine Heart, I wish to talk to your heart. I love to see you humble your
thoughts, your thoughts have been straightforward. I'll say a word about poor France!

Next Friday, the feast of My Sacred Heart, many prayers will be made in penance and reparation.
The more the righteous pray, the more Hell is furious. (i.e Hell hates the prayers of the faithful! A reminder we should never stop praying!)

The 8, the wicked, the profane, the consciences  without remorse are hatching the most  blackest conspiracy that France would never have imagined without the breath of the infernal spirit. From this infernal project will be drawn all the wicks that will light up the spirit of revolt and attract terrible punishments.”

(Note: “Le 8” ~ not sure if this is a misprint on the Sanctuary Website, perhaps of a date (June 8) or page number, but it could be the number of conspirators who start the revolt.)

For a long time the usurpers have hidden a violet fire, a fire half discovered, under the walls of the great city of Paris. As soon as the little bit of breath is brought on these purple sparks, at once they will form burning infernos that will devour homes and kill many people. Know well that these men without faith, who do not desire (anything) but disorder and death, use the powder derived from the coals of hell.

- Here where the first and the last kings have insulted the Holy Church and its leader, have
stripped it, then there will be a fierce assault on that palace.

To have a King like the one I have reserved, there must be new walls. This King (Great Catholic Monarch) will return to France as a new building of a fortified religion, (a symbol of ) laws violated and renewed.

To accommodate this great man, this man of faith who carries over his heart the decoration of honour and of his faith will require a new roof at the Royal Palace. 

This one (i.e. the Great Monarch) will further extend the devotion of My Sacred Heart and My cross. He will be one of the famous preachers of My works, that is to say he will consecrate the whole of France to the Sacred Heart.

He will be like a new Louis XVI, with his crucifix in his hand when he extended that hand looking to Heaven consecrating France to the Sacred Heart while in his prison. O good King! (i.e., Louis XVI) Your heart beat close to Mine many times.

 Good servant, (i.e., the Great Monarch to come) your heart is about to beat on My Own. Poor child exiled, you will see your homeland, welcomed by your tears. The Faith is engraved in your heart and the consecration of France to My Divine Heart fortifies it.

 O Henry, My servant do you not see the sail of My love that sails you to remote areas? This sail is
formed as a pavilion! You will march under that veil, you and your dear companions and soldiers of your cause. Henry, entering France you have the intention to defend the Holy Father. Henry, My servant, these arms are contained in a gold ring.

(To Marie-Julie:) My victim, here are the beautiful designs of My servant!

On returning to France, he wants to carry a large scapular representing the Sacred Heart and France imploring the aid of Heaven.  This man will not be ashamed of his faith, he will not be ashamed to be a Christian.

When Henry comes into France, the fighting will be terrible, the centre right and centre left will come as if to melt on the Prince with their irritations and their blackest anger. The mere sight of the scapular will be enough to overthrow them and Henry will pass freely with his court.

My victim, My designs are great for the King and for France. I have in My domain great preparations that have not been revealed (how) France will progress!

Poor France, without Me, you would never be raised up!”

NOTES / OBSERVATIONS: What is meant by a 'violet fire'? This could be a misprint for a 'violent fire', but the fact this prophecy also mentions “powder derived from the coals of hell”, we understand a specific gunpowder is described here. Of interest, when iodine is released from saltpetre, (potassium nitrate, also called nitre), it creates a violet vapour that can condense into crystals.  Saltpetre is a prime component of gunpowder. We note Normandy and Brittany were one of the main producers of gunpowder during the Napoleonic wars. Iodine was discovered in 1811, which would make it a near contemporary event with this prophecy. The prophecy says this is a “fire half discovered,” which possibly means mankind had just begun to unlock the powers contained in saltpetre, not just iodine.  Man would soon invent other explosive devices that would be used to cause great destruction.

From this we can deduce, a new era of advanced gunpowder is predicted, which the 'usurpers' will hide under the walls of Paris and then detonate. Possibly an advanced chemical method which will detonate on exposure to oxygen, judging from the words of this prophecy: “As soon as the little bit of breath is brought on these purple sparks, at once they will form burning infernos that will devour homes and kill many people.” Is this a prediction of Islamic terrorist attacks on Paris? The 'usurpers' will have plenty of places to hide their 'violet powder', the whole  city of Paris is tunnelled underneath with thousands of kilometres of gypsum mines. We note that most home-made bombs used by terrorists are generally constructed with ingredients from garden fertilisers that contain potassium nitrate.

(April 6, 1877)  Our Lord: "I turned My eyes to this wicked city, ungrateful city, (Paris) are you not  built on a mountain of sins? Have you not spilled rivers of blood? In the past, you gave Me martyrs. Today, you populate Hell and depopulate Heaven. Yes, My Justice will visit you!

You, Christian families, who still bear the Cross at the bottom of your heart, the memory of My blessings, STAY AWAY FROM THIS UNGRATEFUL CITY that will PERISH BY MY JUSTICE!

(April 16, 1877) "All the sorrow of Jesus, is that the Fathers of the Church will BETRAY the Divine Saviour in the midst of the chastisements."

(April 27, 1877) "The CRIES OF ALARM AND DESPAIR rise up to Heaven. The month of the Sacred Heart (June) and My Blood (July), it will be the signal of punishment, CIVIL WAR." 

"When the government will see these changes it will be like a bird, it will fly to another country and France will be free in its revolution. It is at that moment when it will flee Paris."

(April 27, 1877) "When the government will see the turmoil and rebellion, it will be like a bird! It will take flight and go to another country and France will be free in the revolution. The first uprising will be in the city of Paris and the throne of bad kings (i.e the Republic / 'Presidential monarchy' of France) will collapse as the city and its victims will die within its walls ... Many times the flames and the fire were shown in this criminal city, but this time it will be a HAIL OF FIRE and that will smother the culprits.

Here, they will violate the Tabernacles. Here they will pursue the Fathers of the Church with rage. Many will not come out. (Many will not escape) I will receive the blood of martyrs to aid the true French to obtain the Victory. (Note: Christ considers those who are 'true' French who are faithful to the Church and the absolute monarchy established by Heaven, and not to the anti-God Republic which brought about the separation between Church and State.)

This is where the flames will devour the churches, the statue of Mary will be broken and thrown into the fire ... France will have no support for it. It will be left alone and why? Because it does not have a King."

UPDATE:  Another text dated April 27, 1877 from Henri Boucier's book, 'Marie-Julie Jahenny: Une Vie Mystique", pp. 55-56.   Contains some additional information regarding the break out of the civil war.

 

 

Our Lord to Marie-Julie: “My victim, here is the last promise I make to My people and to France. I address Myself to those great proud ones, those spirits who see nothing, neither God, nor heaven; they do not see but through them. (I.e they only want to see what they want.) They believe through their false spirit to raise France.  On the contrary, the higher they rise, the more France is weighed down to the earth.   However, no one other than Me is capable of saving France.    Strange and surprising facts will happen. Men will make one last attempt to give France a peace; and instead of calling peace, they will call My final Justice!

My victim, you will not hear the last crackle of men's voices, because you will be no more. (NOTE: this will happen sometime after her death.  She died in 1941). The cries of the earth of despair will rise to Heaven the precious month of the Sacred Heart (June) and that of the Precious Blood (July) will be two months filled with terror. Only blasphemies will be heard there. It will be the signal of the chastisements, the signal of a civil war… The fleur-de-lys, bathed in the Blood of the Sacred Heart and in the Martyr kings will be a victory.

I suffer much from lay men, but I suffer fourteen times more from those who bear a divine character (I.e those stamped with holy orders, the bishops and priests). To you, My Heart complains. Pray for the guilty who call themselves innocent, for they need a new baptism of grace.

It is very difficult to believe yourself guilty and to admit yourself as such, when they know. But what happiness as soon as they recognize themselves as such: I open the door to heaven to them. He who wears a guilty heart will perish in great punishments. Religion can be called the flower which grows on the top of the highest mountain and which, falling, breaks against the rocks. The new generation will renew the holy religion by the blood of the victims.”

(NOTE: I.e the faith keeps sending forth flowers, the falling flower represents the end of a growth period, then it falls into the rocks = martyrs.  The Church enters times of struggle, and it needs to be renewed.  The blood of martyrs have always been recognized as the 'seed' of the Church. Christ is calling the guilty to wake up and convert while there is time. In her other visions the chastisements clearing the earth have been compared to new ground being prepared , in order to plant the 'new seed' that will restore the Faith on earth.)

'You will confide as much as possible the Divine secrets of My Heart.'

Marie-Julie Jahenny: “Oh! Jesus, what a burst of glory Your Divine Person is surrounded!”

Jesus: “At the last day that will end on earth where I called you, the veil of splendours will disappear and My glory will appear.”

(NOTE: it appears Our Lord has given her a taste of the glory that will surround Him when He comes on the Last Day -the sight of this glory and to feel the extend of His Love makes Marie-Julie Jahnney feel an unusual l pain as the glory of God is almost to musch for a human soul to bear as we see from her reply-she asks Him to dim his glory).

Marie-Julie: "Oh! Jesus, from the beginning soften Your Love. The immortal soul has a great suffering and great pain to support it." (i.e., His glory and love is too great for a human soul to bear.)

Jesus: "I come to engulf you in My Divine Love, I come to tell you how much I love you, you are My true friends that I contemplate from Heaven because you love Me and you comfort Me, I want to set you ablaze in My Divine Love."

"I find so few souls who desire It! I find in your soul that burning desire to console Me and compensate Me, because you recognize that My love has done everything for you, and I send My Divine Heart to your noble hearts of faithful friends of My Divine Heart.”

"Oh, if you could withstand the fire of love which I would like to make you live and engulf you! But you would be unable to endure this on earth!"

Marie-Julie: "Divine Heart, we are not asking for Your fire of love on earth, but in Heaven You will burn our souls, You will give them the same fire of love that you fill Yourself!"

Jesus: "Little loving souls, because I love you with My love, because I love you for this beautiful faith you have, that you bear, that I light every morning each day to console Me. So many souls live without faith on Earth, I want that this faith becomes a sun, a double bond of union with My Divine Heart, and I attach (or, tie) this Divine link, My little loving souls. I will visit you with My graces, I will visit you with My tenderness, I will visit all yours and all the souls you love (said 2 times) and I will assist you when you call Me by My mother's heart. (i.e when we ask the Imaculate Heart of Mary to intercede for us). I will bring to you this divine answer:

'You have loved Me, My Love is stronger than yours, but I will take it to console My Adorable Love that is so little known, so little loved, so little adored.'

Yet it is from the Divine Heart that will come (for) you the salvation and peace of this poor land (i.e. France) that offends Me every day, attracts the rigours of My Justice. Oh! (It is hard for Me?), little loving souls to change My Love into Justice! (said 2 times) for so many souls who loved Me and that do not know how to offend Me!" (i.e., He finds it difficult to be strict with those who love Him.)

“In My Divine Heart, I will give you a safe shelter when the wounding arrows come down

from heaven and announce mourning, tears, death, (i.e deovtion tot he Sacred Heart will be a shelter) ... It is My Divine Justice that will separate My friends from My enemies. I will preserve My friends to rejoice in the resurrection, in a great festival very pure and all full of love. "

"Small loving souls, fear not. Your love has made My Divine Heart incline towards the Earth and I reserve for all a place of love and peace, a place where Divine Justice can not climb, it (Divine Justice) is not for the righteous, but sinners."

"Little souls, do not be frightened, My righteousness will do great things that will strike your eyes shut; but all (sinners) will not come back, they insult Me when they see their lives of pleasure destroyed." (i.e. Our Lord is remidneding again that His Justice is about to strike the wicked.)

"My Divine Power formed all on Earth. Let nothing surprise you. I will give My love to strengthen you. My Divine Justice stirs the earth in all directions. I will do mighty and remarkable things. I am tired of the reign of crime. If I did not see you, faithful souls who love Me, I would have already washed the earth with all kinds of punishment or calamities. (i.e the sacrifices and prayers oft he faithful hold of God's Justice).

I do not enumerate them, you will learn of them, (i.e the calamaites to come) but you will not see them all and you will thank Me for My paternal protection, you will give Me thanks. Your pain will not resemble the punishment that I reserve for those souls who every day light fires of vengeance. I will give you some pain to atone for the crimes that sin has attracted.

Little souls, I give you My warnings, that nothing surprises you, that you will not be surprised, that what I want for so many guilty souls who offend Me is terrible, frightening for them: it will be the ruin of souls and one part of this great justice that moves towards the earth … not for My just that I will test beforehand by illness, pain ... because I do not want My faithful souls to have the same fate as the guilty souls who offend Me in the holy religion, in the faith. There is nothing in those souls of God's creation." (i.e. He does not want the faithful souls to suffer the same fate as them).

Marie-Julie: "Oh Divine Adorable Heart, before converting sinners, sinners who have half a good will, pluck them from the clutches of the enemy."

Jesus: “Little loving souls, I take all your sufferings, your sacrifices, and often I remove my Love (as a sacrifice), it is a great pain not feeling It, but I will double the extent of My coverage to assure you complete peace of mind, spirit and body.” (I.e. Our Lord loves us, but removes the consolation of this feeling His love and often sends dryness of spirit and a Dark Night of the Soul as a sacrifice, but He promises to send spiritual peace in the midst of this trial.)

"My little loving souls, in a moment there will be most unjust laws, more and more heinous crime just for My …" (text missing?) (NOTE: reminder of the evil anticlerical laws that will be passed in France just before the chastiments come in earnest.)

"Oh, little loving souls, I approach you and I say: Listen, little souls, I am your boat of peace. (i.e as in an ark) At the entrance to the boat you climb the three steps which are the three great virtues of My Holy Mother, you have small sacrifices that will cost you, but beyond that it will be resplendent with the Divine Heart, kindness, trust, love and peace. The soul is more than body and the soul needs stronger support, your souls are Mine, I feed them with faith and confidence. I will support in the boat peace and tranquillity, everything that will be. There will be loud bursts of thunder announcing the storm of Justice." (i.e another reminder of the sings of strange thunder and lightning that will announce the chastisements-in particular, the TWO AND THREE DAYS OF DARKNESS).

"I want them to expect everything, I want nothing to surprise them. I will watch with My Blessed Mother over the families and friends."

Marie-Julie: "Oh! Divine Heart of Jesus, close our eyes before the Justice arrives, our bodies are unable to see it, our hearts could only halfbear it. What a pain, seeing the poor souls of hell bound cost so much to you! "

Jesus: Small loving souls, this abyss is on the earth, the king of hell with his tongue of fire and lightning strokes. (i.e. HELL IS ALREADY ON EARTH) Bearing in his features eternal damnation, out of his nostrils comes forth sheaves of fire, a flood of misfortunes, of disorders, faith is lost and while faith is being lost the enemy takes the place of the Divine Heart, he leads to the fire that devours and never ends. He (the Devil) says,

"You belong to us, you do our works, you listened in our schools, seeded crime and impurity, come to us."

And Jesus (says to those about to be lost): "You have done evil against souls, you have fed guilty pleasures, you have fled the call of grace, you do not know Me, I do not know you."

Marie-Julie: "It is to the soul he speaks."

Jesus: "My little loving souls, I veil Myself to your eyes, but at the last day the veil of splendour will disappear and I will be visible."

Marie-Julie: "Oh Jesus, moderate Your love. The human mind has great difficulty to overcome It."

(i.e., His love is too great to bear.)

Jesus: "I want to tell you how much I love you.

Marie-Julie: "I have not heard that word there."

Jesus: "You are going to understand it well: when you have a sheep that passes on into another field, they put up an (obstacle)." (i.e., the sheep is prevented from moving away?)

Marie-Julie: "I understand that word."

"O Divine Heart, I love Your sweet talks, but when You talk of Justice ... (I do not like the justice / punishment)."

Jesus: "They will be sweet in these bonds of union that I foresee in Heaven, this Love of union of souls, so sweet, that attaches to My Divine Heart, a beauty like My beauty, because I am spotless. Love with all its tenderness, its Divine workings, its words burning as I communicate what I want. I give the intimate communication in the soul, that is where I operate and where I place My love, I invoke the souls to come to rekindle body and soul.

You say I am cold little souls! (i.e. we cannot feel this action in our souls se we feel that God is far away and He is 'cold' to us.) But this poverty does not prevent Love to move in you, to make roads full of clarity where there is no night.”

Marie-Julie: "Heart of Jesus, they are still much better when we are over our bodies to worship You, to understand You and love You." (i.e., when we can control oursleves and can overcome our weak flesh – we can love and understand Our Lord more.)

From “The Prophecies of La Fraudais” by Fr. Roberdel - THE IMPORTANCE OF THE CANDLE:

March 24, 1881: (Our Lady) "Those who have served Me well and invoked Me, who have my blessed picture in their house, who carry my rosary on them and say it often I will keep intact all that belongs to them. The heat from Heaven will be unbearably hot, even in the closed homes. The whole sky will be on fire, but the lightning will not penetrate into the houses where there will be the light of the blessed candle. This light is the only thing that will protect you."

!!! NOTE - OUR PROTECTION DEPENDS ON HOW MUCH WE ARE DEVOTED TO OUR LADY AND THE ROSARY.  Also, NOTE THE LAST SENTENCE !!! The blessed 100% wax (beeswax) candle will be the ONLY THING THAT WILL PROTECT US from the fire and the lightning!!!

The other prophecies given to Marie-Julie regarding the blessed candles say it must be pure wax with no other 'paste' mixed in or they WILL NOT LIGHT – 100% beeswax used to be proscribed by the Church for altar candles. This amount was gradually lessened over the years until 51% beeswax was deemed sufficient, but her prophecies show this is NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR THE TWO and THREE DAYS of DARKNESS.

She was also told the candles would protect us from the demons that would be let loose from Hell during those days.

Our Lady: "The Earth will be covered in darkness, and Hell will be loosed on Earth. The thunder and lightning will cause those who have no faith or trust in my Power, to die of fear. During these three days of terrifying darkness, no windows must be opened, because no one will be able to see the earth and the terrible colour it will have in those days of punishment without dying at once...The sky will be on fire, the earth will split... During these three days of darkness let the blessed candle be lighted everywhere, no other light will shine...

December 8, 1882, "No one outside a shelter... will survive. The earth will shake as at the judgement and fear will be great. Yes, We will listen to the prayers of your friends, not one will perish. We will need them to publish the glory of the cross.

The crash of thunder will shake the earth and sinister lightning will streak the heavens out of season, the earth will be shaken to its foundations, the sea will rise, its roaring waves will spread over the Continent..."

I have found more of this text, and, this reference to the Mass was made at the end of a discourse on the Brown Scapular and Purgatory, so, I have made a new additional post featuring this part of the text. Of interest, this ecstasy encouraging more devotion to the Brown Scapular is proof the Purple Scapular shown to Marie-Julie was never meant to replace the Brown.)

Ecstasy of July 16, 1901 – The Graces of the Brown Scapular - Our Lady Confirms the Promise of Salvation and Mentions Extra Graces She Grants at the Moment of Death for Those Devoted to this Scapular

Marie-Julie: “I salute You, O Queen of Heaven, Our Lady of Mount Carmel! I salute You, all radiant with beauty, with goodness and with glory! I salute You in union with all of heaven prostrate at Your feet who repeats to you the eternal ‘Magnificat’ that the earth cannot understand.”

Our Lady: “My children, it is the Queen of Heaven Who comes to visit you by her graces and her presence. I come to speak with you and console you.”

Marie-Julie: “Our Lady bears on her chest the scapular of Mount Carmel. It is nothing but light and splendour, like a sun shining with all kinds of rays. I see a multitude of souls wearing the scapular on their chest.”

Our Lady: “My children, if you only knew what protection, what graces this precious habit spreads in souls! I present to Satan this holy image: it is enough to make him let go (of a soul) at the moment of death. I assist them all and, often, I obtain for them in their last moments immense graces which shorten years of purgatory. I have never allowed a soul who has worn it all its life to perish and fall prey to Satan. My breast is its last pillow. (i.e. the dying soul has the grace to rest their head on the Immaculate Heart). This is where I support it. This is where I remind it of the sufferings of the Passion of my Divine Son and my maternal love at the foot of the cross. I myself close the eyelids of my consecrated children. I clothe the soul with the holy habit of my purity, to present it to my Divine Son.”

Marie-Julie: “My good Mother, before going into communicating our intentions and our needs that we have on earth, I ask you to grant us the grace of Saturday, of the Sabbatine Privilege, to all of us, the friends of the Cross.

(i.e. the Sabbatine Privilege is an additional grace revealed by Our Lady for those who wear the Brown Scapular: those who wear the Brown Scapular and fulfil the extra requests to receive this privilege will be released from Purgatory on the first Saturday after their death. Marie-Julie seems to be asking for this grace for those who are friends of the Cross, which usually means those who support the mission that has been revealed by Heaven to her. I do not want to try and read too much into this, but it seems she is asking that they may receive this privilege even if they don't manage to fulfil the necessary obligations attached to the Scapular for it. So, she is asking for a big request! It is hard to tell if Our Lady grants this, as it seems she speaks generally of the Saturday grace. Maybe this polite evasiveness is a 'no'! The conditions have to be fulfilled.)

Our Lady: “My children, often this favour is granted on the Saturday after the departure of the soul. I introduce many souls into heaven, but others are a little further away. However, always on Saturday, I have special tenderness to introduce my children into the beautiful heaven of eternal love.”

Marie-Julie: “My good Mother, do the faithful who wear the Brown Scapular stay in purgatory for a long time?”

Our Lady: “My children, sometimes at the end of Friday, I introduce my elect the following Saturday. Sometimes it is only fifteen days before; sometimes, for less pious souls to honour me on Saturday, I leave them for a month. But this fire is not very severe. Their greatest suffering is to see the beauty which charmed them, dazzled them, delighted them, this holy Face of Jesus which flooded them with delight.

My children, I cannot give these great graces to the souls who wear my holy scapular with so much indifference and carelessness and, often, leave it aside. I suffer from this contempt, and the torment of these souls in Purgatory is very great, very painful because of this abuse.”

(OBSERVATION: it appears Our Lady gives the various degrees she can help release a soul in Purgatory depending on how devoted they were to her and the Brown Scapular. Those who were devoted and fulfilled the conditions for the Sabbatine Privilege are released on the Saturday as promised. Others, while not fulfilling the Privilege conditions but were devoted to Our Lady get a shorter sentence in Purgatory, others, who are less devoted to her may remain a month. Also, it seems those who died with some fervour of devotion to Our Lady suffer less from the fire there. In all, the graces we gain depend on our faith and fervour. She cannot give much help to those who are cold and indifferent to her, or treat the scapular with indifference, and do not habitually wear it. The worst pain the souls have Purgatory is after seeing the Adorable Face of Jesus, they are unable to enter Heaven and are separated from Him until they are purified.)

Marie-Julie: “Good Mother, grant us more and more this devotion to your holy scapular! Tell us if, in this fire which is not cruel for us, the desire to repay Jesus brings about a respite for negligent souls.”

Our Lady: “My children, Purgatory, it is a day without night, without rest for the soul which purifies itself there. The soul must have a day without night. The flames must penetrate its immortal being.”

(i.e. There is no rest there. Workers on earth can work at night from the their labours, but in Purgatory there is no period of time for rest or repose. And, the souls cannot help themselves, they must be purified.)

Marie-Julie: “Does the soul praise Our Lord Jesus Christ during this time?”

Our Lady: “The soul praises Him in itself through ardent desires to enjoy His presence.”

Marie-Julie: “Its praises must soften the fire that purifies it...”

(I.e. it seems Marie-Julie is wondering that surely, such praise earns some relief for the soul? Either Marie-Julie herself is still trying to grasp the state of helplessness of the souls there with regard to themselves, or, she might be asking this for the benefit of the witnesses present so they can hear an answer?)

Our Lady: “The soul thus restrained has admirable patience. The soul knows that this time of purification must be accomplished. It adores the Will which makes it suffer to deserve the reward. The time seems long to the soul, because of its ardent desire to see Jesus. The more it advances towards heaven, the more its desire increases, the more it is purified, the more the soul's desires for heaven cause its torments.”

Marie-Julie: “The souls of Purgatory must not be sad despite their sufferings to purify them?”

Our Lady: “My beloved children, go and enter these furnaces where the heat is excessive. Without being led by Jesus, myself and Joseph, a soul by itself could not resist it. This gentle presence is necessary so that souls can endure these burning heats. I assure you that, every morning, the freshness of the Blood of my Divine Son always falls on these souls, as many pray for them. This drop of the Adorable Blood softens the fire so much! Often I pass through this place of suffering. I approach the foyers where all souls are purified. I ask them: 'Did you feel a little freshness?' And they answer me: 'Oh! Heavenly Mother, look to the degree to which the holy mysteries have elevated us! We were on the burning stone of the hearth, and the holy sacrifice (i.e. the Mass?) brought us more than halfway up the path of purification.' If souls are on the surface (of Purgatory) (above) of their past deep pain, all it takes is a few more prayers. Then, they leave the fiery hearth to immerse themselves in eternal freshness.

Often, the crown of 'Ave' of a rosary (i.e. a rosary said for a depart soul) makes the soul fly to heaven. Only one Communion, (i.e. offered for a soul), and the soul white as my purity flies into the bosom of the Eternal. Often, it takes even less than an invocation, a 'Pater' (Our Father) or an 'Ave' (Hail Mary) in honour of the holy (brown) scapular. It is an immense wealth, these are graces so abundant that I cannot enumerate them. Ah, my children! What power is the holy sacrifice of the Mass! It is only in heaven that you will penetrate the immense effectiveness of this prodigy of power, happiness, wonder and deliverance!”

(OBSERVATIONS: Our Lady lists the help and the consolations the holy souls receive They receive grace from Jesus, Our Lady and St. Joseph to endure the torments of Purgatory. Those who pray for the Holy Souls, those prayers make the Precious Blood to fall on the souls and give them great relief, and, also helps to lessen their sentences, depending. Sometimes a Holy Communion offered for them may release a soul, or a few prayers, but most important of all is the Mass and the Rosary. These help the most.)

Marie-Julie: “My good Mother, thank you with gratitude!”

#216 A Day in the Prayer life of Marie-Julie Jahenny

 

No date is given for this text, or if this was her routine every day, but seems to be at least one example of her constant life of prayer and meditation, or, a prayer vigil.

One hour after midnight: I transport myself to the Garden of Olives, where Our Lord drank the chalice of the same sins. (i.e. 'transport' – spiritually contemplates being there). About a quarter of an hour, I pray there over the sadness that my sins have caused to Our Lord. Then I transport myself to the feet of the Blessed Virgin. I ask her for humility, obedience and the secret of loving the good Lord. Then I recite the “Memorare”, the Salve Regina and I rest while thinking of Jesus and Mary living on earth (i.e. When they lived on earth).

About two o'clock (AM): I transport myself to hell and, arriving there, I enter the cave where I contemplate the horror of sin ... I take all the sins of my life that I tie, like a fagot (wood bundle), with the link of Divine Mercy. I present this bundle to the Blessed Virgin so that she can give it to her Divine Son. I imagine myself seeing Our Lord descend, and I beg him to set it on fire, but a fire of love, mercy and forgiveness. After it is reduced by the flames, I collect the ashes and I have them blessed by the Blessed Virgin, and I pray that each grain will publish the mercy of Our Lord. I say three times: love, love, love. I still meditate, and I pray for all the enemies of the goodness of God. Then I make my Spiritual Communion and I enter the Five Wounds of Our Lord. I study his immense love for all of us, poor sinners. I still meditate and I see the day passing by the window.

(NOTE: it seems she medetates on the horrror and the eternal rewards due sin which is Hell, and, seems to make a spiritual exercise of seeing this picture, renouncing sin and having her sins burn in hell instead, that she is saved from her sins thanks to the chain of Divine Mercy which binds her sins like a wood bundle and reduces them to ashes theough the Fire of Love Mercy and Forgiveness, and that the ashes are an example of the mercy of God. Then she prays for God's enemies, i.e. sinners.)

At around three o'clock (AM): I am transported to Calvary and, there, I make a prayer for all the good fathers of the Church, especially for those who are our friends. Then I pray the good Jesus to take a hammer and strike on my heart to drive in all the virtues ... I pray to the Blessed Virgin to water all hearts, like a garden, with all the drops of love that are in her own Heart. I pray for the Holy Church and for the Holy Father. I do a quarter of an hour of prayer on the Passion, and I remain in the presence of God.

Around four o'clock (AM): I transport myself to Heaven, and I greet the good Angels who are at the door. Then I send them to greet all the good friends of Our Lord and mine. Then I become a beggar, covered in rags. I take my heart like a small bowl and I offer it to the good Jesus. I ask Him for charity and, when it is filled, I go to the Blessed Virgin and I ask her to have this small alms carried on all sides. After that, I make an examination of conscience of all the miseries and distractions of the past time, and I say the 'Miserere'.

At five 'o' clock (AM): I transport myself to the foot of the tabernacle and there, in my heart, I teach a little lesson to the Good Lord. I “preach” and ask Him to send His graces to the priests who are going to go up to the altar. I ask the Cherubim to accompany them from the sacristy to the altar. I make myself like a little niche behind the altar. In my little niche, when the priest celebrates the Holy Sacrifice, I hear the Angels singing and, when Our Lord descends on the altar, I cover myself with all the same miseries; I implore; I ask for mercy and forgiveness and I return to the bottom of my niche. When the priest gives Holy Communion, I make myself a little reptile (i.e. she abases herself spiritually and considers herself like a lowly reptile); I follow him to the holy table and I open my mouth to pick up the crumbs that could fall. I accompany him again to the holy altar, and I remain at the door of the tabernacle where I pray to the Holy Eucharist, for myself and my friends. I attend the holy sacrifice. I imagine the mountain of Calvary and I see Our Lord charged with His Cross through the priest. I ask all the holy ministers of the Lord for a drop of the Precious Blood. I pray for all those who do me good on earth and for the souls in purgatory.


At seven (AM): I am doing my morning prayer. I recite my rosary and I rest a little.



At eight o'clock (AM): I say my rosary for Fathers Étoile and Providence. I beg my good Angel to go and say hello to you for me. (I.e her spiritual directors, or, perhaps her parish priests.)

At nine o'clock (AM): I pray in reparation for the outrages they do to the Blessed Sacrament and for good deeds to be done during the day. I visit the Blessed Virgin, and I impose myself some small penances.

From ten to eleven o'clock: I rest and at noon I make spiritual communion. I recite my rosary of the Five Wounds. (i.e. The Chaplet of the Holy Wounds).


At one o'clock in the afternoon: I am preparing to enter into ecstasy through the Veni Sancte (Come Holy Spirit) and the litanies of the Blessed Virgin. I invoke her in the Holy Spirit, I do an act of humility and, from two to five hours, I remain in ecstasy. I say a few small prayers to thank the good Lord. I do my self-examination (of conscience), and I rest a little more.

Around eight o'clock (PM): I say the rosary in common, the evening prayer, and I sing a little hymn as a good evening to the good Lord. After that, very small, softly, with Angèle (her sister). of our happiness, of our sorrows and a word on Heaven. After she falls asleep. I stay alone. I make a big prayer for about an hour. I put myself in the presence of God; I say my rosary and weep for my sins. It is almost midnight. I stand at the foot of the Cross. I pray for the victim fathers, for the brothers and sisters of the Cross. I thank Our Lord for all the good that He allows me to do, through you my father and through all the holy priests. I recite the 'Parce Domine' and the 'Cor Jesu Sacratissimum'.
